PETER KOROMA is a bright, talented, and ambitious Programme Specialist who has the required Practitioner qualifications along with comparable experience of working to the highest standards. Peter has a long track record of ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality, and within budget by effectively organizing, managing, and utilizing all resources. Peter can be considered as a population and development worker, Health Promotion, and Community Engagement Expert with Thirteen (13) successful years in the health and community Development Sector working as Country Health Programme Manager-VSO International, Area Manager, Child rights Governance Program Manager-Save The Children International, National Program Coordinator, Senior District Coordinator, and District supervisor for Health Humanitarian, Child Protection International Organizations, Youths focus Local Non-Governmental Organizations and Educational institutions addressing the need of the less privilege and marginalized groups like women, children, youths and persons with disabilities.
Currently, Peter is working as UNFPA Sierra Leone Country Office Population and Development Specialist, most recently as Country Program Manager-Health with Voluntary Service Overseas International (VSO), before joining VSO, Peter Worked as Acting Area Manager & Child Rights Governance Manager for Save the Children International Sierra Leone. Before then, Peter Worked as Program Manager - for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Sierra Leone, Senior District Coordinator for USAID Funded John Hopkins University, Health communications Capacity Collaborative (HC3) Sierra Leone in which he has responsibility for the initiation, planning, coordination, supervision, Research, monitoring and evaluation of the health promotions and Community Engagement activities in the Western Area, Bombali, Tonkolili and Port Loko districts of Sierra Leone.
Peter had also worked with GOAL Ireland Sierra Leone as Health Promotion Field Supervisor and Field Officer Health Promotion and as National Programme coordinator with a Youth Based Organization.
PETER holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc. Hon.) in Social Work) from Njala University Sierra Leone, Masters of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations- University of Sierra Leone, Fourah Bay College and has recently completed his Doctorate Degree in Public Health.
