Stats SL is the National Statistics Office that coordinates, collects, compiles, analyses and disseminates high quality and objective official statistics that will be used to assist informed decision making, and discussion within government, business and the media, as well as the wider national and international community.
Since the first coronavirus (COV-19) case was recorded in Sierra Leone in late March, the cases (infections, recoveries, deaths, number of people in quarantine and those released) have been increasing by the day, creating various types of data and potential for analyses and publications of results by various groups.
Stats SL, as the source for credible official statistics in Sierra Leone, has dedicated this page to the dissemination of our data, analyses and reports but also those from other institutions who partner with us and/or have had their work accredited by us.
The Statistician General and Stats SL staff have been fully involved in the national response against COVID-19, providing technical support to the various pillars of the Emergency Operational Centre. The Statistician General is also a member of the presidential group established in June 2020 – Scientific and Technical Advisory Group on Emergencies (STAGE – C19). Stats SL has been providing district maps to coordinators who are responsible for the district response.
The data used in all our analyses and reports come either from our own national surveys or from the national centre responsible for the response against COVID-19.
