Miriam Ballay Jalloh holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors (BSc Hons) in Statistics and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leones and the University of Maryland University College. She is married to a wonderful husband with four handsome boys and an inspiring career with over ten years management experience. She has worked in Institutions like the National Revenue Authority, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MOFED), Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) and Justice Sector Coordination Office (JSCO) and served diligently in various capacities. She has a wealth of experience around statistical coordination, managing data collection and analysis, and monitoring data collection activities of regulatory and compliance.
Throughout her career, Miriam’s job description revolves mostly around managing aspects of reporting and analysis of relevant, reliable, timely and efficient data through the close observation of international standards and procedures. Her expertise in the management of data collection and analysis also gives direction to policy and economic performance to development partners, MDA’s and other government institutions.
She served as the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator at the Justice Sector Coordination Office with a Job description that articulates well with the Coordinator, Justice sector MDA’s, and other stakeholders in coordinating the development and strengthening of M& E Capacity for data collection and reporting in accordance with the JSRSIP III & IV Logical Framework. As a manager she has successfully combined studies with work and other commitments. She is capable of working under pressure with a clear logical mind, a practical approach to problem solving, and a drive to see work through completion. She is an excellent professional; very reliable, energetic, with a work-oriented personality that is eager to learn new skills while achieving her goals in a timely and efficient manner.
Presently, she is the Principal Statistician attached to the National Statistical Systems Division at Statistics Sierra Leone; a department that serves as the hub for coordinating statistical activities to support the decision-making processes both at planning and policy level
