Mrs Marian WilsonMarian Berrendo Vinnie-Wilson (Nee Kargbo) is a Principal Statistician in the Communication and Public Relations Division, Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL).

She holds a Master of Science degree in Development Management, Master of Arts in Library and Information Studies from the University of Sierra Leone (USL), a Post-graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor’s degree in English/Geography from Njala University College. She has sixteen (16) years work experience at Stats SL. Marian is a member of the Executive Management team of Statistics Sierra Leone and is assigned to manage Stats SL’s resource centre (comprising both the library and printing units).

Before her appointment as Head of the resource centre, she served as manager for Stats SL’s regional and district offices from 2018/19 where Marian coordinated the administrative, human resources and general welfare of that office.

Marian developed keen interest in Environmental studies and has a written unpublished research on “Critical Examination on the impact of Environmental Protection   Agency – Sierra Leone (EPA – SL) in Mitigating Environmental Degradation in the Western Area of Sierra Leone. Marian has attended several Workshops and training/seminars on Climate Change Capacity Building and on the Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics. She was one time head of environment statistics in the GIS Division.

Marian has participated in data collection exercises since 2004. She has been extensively involved in Library and Information work since 1993 in several organizations/institutions serving as Senior Librarian at Statistics Sierra Leone, Head of Adult Lending at the Sierra Leone Library Board, Teacher/Librarian at the YWCA Vocational Institute, and as an Assistant Teacher at Government Rokel Secondary School, Freetown.

Marian was a member of Sierra Leone Association of Archivists, Librarians and Information Professionals as well as the Young Women’s Christian Association Sierra Leone and is involved in charity works.
