Ibrahim Gibril Kargbo is the Director of Data Science Division at Statistics Sierra Leone. He was a Senior Teacher at the Methodist Girls High School (1989 – 1998) and a Desk Officer in the Office of National Security (2002 – 2004). He joined Stats SL in September 2004 as a Statistician and now heads the Data Science Division.
Ibrahim holds a Master of Philosophy in Education, in addition to Master and Bachelor degrees in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from Njala University and the University of Sierra Leone respectively. In 2006, his capacity was enhanced in Statistical Analysis and Survey Sampling Design at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. As a beneficiary of the Sababu Education Project, he has several capacity building certificates from the World Bank Institute on Sampling, Data Analyses and Report Writing techniques for national education assessment studies. Being an intermediate user of some statistical packages including C S Pro, SPSS and Stata, he is co-author of the Education and Literacy modules of the 2004 and 2015 Population and Housing Censuses in Sierra Leone.
