ISK for ProfileIbrahim Sorie Kamara is a Senior Statistician responsible for higher education statistics in the Social Statistics section of the Demographic, Health and Social Statistics Division. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Sierra Leone (USL) which he attained in 2004 and a Post graduate Masters in Statistics from Njala University obtained in 2011. Ibrahim Sorie joined Stats SL in April 2008. Before joining Stats SL, he taught for few years. He also worked with a local NGO; Association for the Well-Being of Rural Communities and Development (ABC-Development) as Project development Officer.

At Stat SL, he was initially deployed at the Ministry of Trade and Industry under the vision of National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS) from 2008 to 2014.. He was later redeployed as District Statistician at the Western Area Rural District Office from 2014 to 2016. Ibrahim Sorie has wealth of experience in data collection, analysis and report writing. He has supervised large scale data collection such as DHS 2013,  MICS 2017 and DHS 2019 as district coordinator. He has also served as Coordinator of the Social Safety Net (SSN) project.  He is an excellent user of numerous Statistical software packages such as Excel, Access, SPSS, CSPro, STATA etc.
